JOHANNESBURG - Canada has earned a berth in the 2011 Cricket World Cup despite losing by six wickets to the Netherlands at the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier on Friday.

Canada has made three previous visits to the cricket World Cup (1979, 2003 and 2007), exiting in the first round each time while notching just one career win.

With the win, the Netherlands also qualified, as did Ireland and Kenya.

The Irish had already clinched their berth earlier in the week. But the other three finished in the top four of eight sides in the qualifying tournament that finished Friday.
